Baseball Coaching and Leadership

Adam Provost has compiled a record of 464-204 as a head coach over 28 years in Vermont coaching an array of middle school, 14-15 year old Babe Ruth, Senior Babe Ruth, American Legion and high school baseball. Provost recently completed 16 years with the Colchester Cannons program in various roles as Bench Coach and advisor and Assistant Coach for the Junior Cannons from 2014, 2015 (NLBL Champions), and 2016. From 2006-2012 he was the Head Coach at Burr and Burton Academy (BBA) in Manchester, Vermont. During this time he led numerous field, program and youth league renovations, had the most wins in school history over a six-year span to that date, and the team made three trips to the State Finals. Prior to coming to BBA, Provost coached at Champlain Valley Union High School (CVU) for 15 years, with 10 at the Varsity helm. Provost led CVU to it's first Division I State Title in 2003 and was named Metro Division Coach of the Year. He spearheaded efforts to renovate facilities and youth league programs, establishing CVU as a premier high school baseball program in Vermont. He has conducted hundreds of highly regarded instructional camps for youth and for coaches over his career.

Coached the team to it's best record in school history over a six year period, with two appearances in the State Finals. Led program development at the high school and youth levels, equipment and facility renovations.  Took a sabbatical in 2013 and the team reached the finals that year.

The baseball program was the Mona Garone Sportsmanship Award Award Winner in 2008, the first school program to win the honor.

    • Brought CVU Baseball to the web, the baseball web page in Vermont. Shortly after the CVU Baseball web page appeared, Adam created the 'Vermont Metro Baseball' web site in 1996. Metro Baseball became the first high school baseball league web site in the United States. The Metro site featured league schedules, tournament information, history, league leader statistics, and collaboration between Metro schools to develop content. With the evolution of the Metro Baseball site, many VT baseball teams and schools were brought to the Internet.
